Day 1 – CUSCO – MOLLEPATA – SORAYPAMPA
Pick up from hotel (5:00 am) in tourist bus towards the town of Mollepata (approximately 3 hours). Breakfast to begin our hike. After around 3 hours we’ll reach the town of Cruz Pata for lunch. After one hour of rest, we’ll continue our walk towards Soraypampa (3,850 m). In this part of the way we will be in front of the first snow peak called Humantay. Then we’ll be around 5:00 p.m at our first camp, where our chef will be waiting with some hot tea to recover energies. Dinner and rest.
Day 2 – SORAYPAMPA – CHAULLAY
Early in the morning we’ll depart from our camp, walking towards the Salkantay (4,540 m) snow peak, which is the highest point along the route. We’ll take around 4 hours to do this first pass. At the top of the pass we will have a short break to apprectiate the breathtaking views from this point. During the trip we will meet several mounds of stones called Apachetas. Then descend for about 4 hours to Chaullay where is our second camp. Dinner and rest.
Day 3 – CHAULLAY – LA PLAYA (Sawayaco) – SANTA TERESA
After breakfast we’ll leave at 7:00 am from Chaullay to continue our walk towards Collcapampa by narrow trails with abundant flora native to the area as different types of orchids and waterfalls. After 5 hours walking to finally arrive Sawayaco also known as The beach where we take a bus to Santa Teresa village which lies 1,645 meters above sea level for about 45 minutes to reach Santa Teresa around 1.00 pm where we will settle. After a short break we will go to the medicinal baths which is located 45 km from Santa Teresa. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4 – SANTA TERESA – HYDRO – AGUAS CALIENTES
At 7:00 am the morning after breakfast we continue our walk for about 2 hours to the Urubamba river where we cross the bridge and then continue walking Carrilluchayoc for 2 hours to the Hydroelectric, after being there we may appreciate the Urubamba River Valley, the different types of fruit trees and plants in the region. Finally arrive at the last place you collect our things and then take the local train to Aguas Calientes for 1 hour or overnight stay in a beautiful and friendly hotel in Aguas Calientes.
Day 5 – AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
Early in the morning 4 am for walkers and 5:30 am for the bus that we want to transport to the sanctuary of Machu Picchu for 30 minutes. Or 120 hours walking Then we have our tour for about 2 hours where the guide will take you through the most important citadel after our visit we will have a free hour to take pictures and the other option is to climb the Huayna Picchu appreciate the breathtaking view of the citadel. Finally we will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes and then go to the station and wait for our train to take us back to Cusco, where we will be approximately 8:30 pm.
